For the Fish all-purpose flour, cornstarch,1 teaspoon baking powder, Salt (to taste), Black pepper (to taste), beer (dark beer), sparkling water, fish fillets (thick, white fish, preferably, sustainable cod, pollock, or haddock)

For the Chips potatoes (peeled), vegetable oil (or lard or dripping to cook)

Method of cooking:

In a large bowl mix the dry ingredients and then take another bowl and put together the wet ingredients. Add the wet ingredients into the bowl of the dry ingredients and mix it carefully till no lumps can be seen. When the batter is prepared, take the filleted fish and dredge into flour and then put it into the beer batter. Fry the fish in the oil till golden brown. For the chips, cut it into cube pieces and first fry it into low temperature so that it cooks and then fry it in high temperature to make it crispy. The fish and chips are ready to be served with a snippet of lemon.

United state of America:

One of the best contributions of America to the food industry is a burger. Making a burger is very easy.


Egg, salt, ground black pepper, ground beef, dry bread crumbs, patty, lettuce, pickle, cheese, ketchup, tomato and onion (if needed)

Method of cooking:

Take a bowl and put the ground beef on it. Put beaten egg, breadcrumb, salt and pepper (to the taste) in it. Mix it up till it is properly mixed and make a patty out of it and set it aside. Heat up an iron skillet and cook the patty till it is ready for your suiting ( rare, medium rare, well cooked). Now take a bun and put lettuce on it, put the cooked patty on it and a slice of cheese. slice of tomato and onion and pickle on it if needed, on the other side of the bun add ketchup and put it together. The burger is ready.

Method of cooking:

Marinate the chicken thighs with garlic and ginger paste, minced mint leaves, salt, garam masala powder, green chillies, oil, chilli powder, coriander and cumin powder. Take a utensil and add oil in it. Shallow fry the chopped onions. When the onions turn pink add the marinated chicken in it with tomato puree and cook for as long as it needed. When the oil starts to separate from the meat it means that the meat is ready. Take a big utensil and make a layer of parboiled basmati rice, then make another layer of cooked chicken, make another layer rice and garnish it with garam masala powder, cardamom powder and pour some lukewarm saffron infused milk on top of the biryani. Seal the utensil with a right lid and cook till the utensil fills with the evaporation.

The whole affair of food and sharing makes one feel closer to others. While it may not be possible to share food because of the distance but trying out new food and cooking them at home can bring a bunch of people a lot closer. Through sharing recipes they are not only sharing the culture they have but also the love of food that possess in each other.
